The kitchen's tidy, the emails have stopped, and the day still hasn't quite let go.
Night Calm is the blend for that gap. All three of its herbs have been traditionally taken in India as the day winds down.
Ashwagandha leads. Its botanical name, somnifera, is a nod to sleep, and it is traditionally taken to unwind. Brahmi, or bacopa, is the counterpoint, cool where ashwagandha is warm, and traditionally used to quieten a busy mind at the day's end. Nutmeg finishes it, warm and comforting, traditionally taken in warm milk at bedtime for a restful night, and used here in the small amount the tradition uses.
How the blend works
Ashwagandha brings warmth and grounding as the day slows down. Nutmeg deepens that settling warmth, and brahmi quietens a busy mind, so the blend never feels heavy. Ayurveda has a regimen for the night, Ratricharya, and treats the evening as a transition from activity towards rest. This blend is built for exactly that.
Two of these herbs are in Daily Calm as well. What changes is which one leads, how much of each goes in, and the third herb alongside them. That is the whole difference between a morning blend and an evening one.
The formula
Ashwagandha (leads): named somnifera, traditionally taken to unwind
Brahmi (quietens): traditionally used to quieten a busy mind at day's end
Nutmeg (settles): taken in warm milk at bedtime, traditionally for a restful night
Magnesium (completes): contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system
What you might notice:
In the first one to two weeks, calmer, more settled evenings as the routine takes hold
By six to eight weeks, an easier wind-down and more restful nights, evening after evening
These are traditional uses, built on centuries of practice.
Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function, to the normal functioning of the nervous system, to normal psychological function and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Tulsi is light and lifting, which suits the day. In the evening Ayurveda looks for the opposite, so nutmeg takes its place, a warm, settling spice traditionally taken in warm milk before bed.

With supplements, what goes into the soil goes into the herb. Organic certification means our herbs are grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, independently verified by the Soil Association. For something taken every day, we think that distinction matters.
