Movement is one of those things you take for granted, right up until you start thinking about it.
Joint Support is the blend for keeping that going, and it's led by the herb Ayurveda has always reached for first when it comes to joints.
That herb is boswellia, known in Ayurveda as shallaki and in English as Indian frankincense. The resin is the part that's used, warming, drying and valued for travelling deep into the tissues. Turmeric works alongside it, traditionally paired with boswellia for the joints. Ginger warms the whole blend and is traditionally used for stiff joints on cold mornings. And a little black pepper helps the body absorb the curcuminoids in turmeric, an old pairing that modern science has since gone on to explain.
How the blend works
Our other blends work by balance. This one is all about warmth. In Ayurveda the joints are a seat of Vata, cold, dry and mobile, and Ayurveda answers cold with warmth, which is why every herb in this blend is a warming one. Boswellia leads and turmeric supports, the order the classical texts use.
The formula
Boswellia (leads): Indian frankincense, traditionally used for comfortable joints and easy movement
Turmeric (supports): traditionally paired with boswellia for the joints
Ginger (warms): traditionally used for stiff joints on cold mornings
Black pepper extract (carries): helps the body absorb turmeric's curcuminoids
Vitamin C and D3 (completes): vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage; vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function and normal bones
What you might notice:
In the first two to four weeks, easier, more comfortable movement
By eight weeks, the fuller benefit: comfortable joints and easy movement, with steady daily use
These are traditional uses, built on centuries of practice.
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and of bones. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function, to the maintenance of normal bones and to the normal absorption and use of calcium.

FAQs
-
Joint Support is an Ayurvedic blend led by boswellia, with turmeric, ginger and black pepper, plus vitamin C from organic amla and vitamin D3 from organic lichen. It comes as 60 vegan capsules, a one-month supply at two capsules a day.
-
Boswellia serrata is the resin of the Indian frankincense tree, gathered by scoring the bark and letting the resin harden. In Ayurveda it's known as shallaki, and it's the herb the classical texts turn to first for joints. It's warming and drying in character.
-
The classical Ayurvedic order puts boswellia first for joints, with turmeric in support, and that's the order we've followed. Turmeric is still in the blend at 400mg, working alongside boswellia.
-
Black pepper extract helps the body absorb the curcuminoids in turmeric. It's a traditional pairing, and one of the places where a modern explanation lines up neatly with a very old practice. It's present in a small amount, purely for that purpose.
-
Usually fine alongside glucosamine, as they're different approaches. The turmeric here is a supporting amount, so it can sit alongside a turmeric single too.
-
Weeks rather than days, which is normal in Ayurveda. Many notice easier, more comfortable movement in the first two to four weeks, with the fuller benefit by eight weeks of steady daily use. Take it with a main meal, which keeps a warming blend comfortable.
-
Its organic ingredients are certified by the Soil Association, but our boswellia is wild-harvested rather than farmed, which takes the blend under the 95% needed to carry the organic mark. The other herbs are organically grown in India.
-
If you take blood thinners, antiplatelets, high-dose aspirin, regular anti-inflammatory painkillers, anti-epileptics, immunosuppressants or other long-term prescription medication, speak to your GP or pharmacist before starting. The same applies if you have gallstones or a liver condition, or are due for surgery within two weeks.
-
The vitamin C comes from organic amla, the Indian gooseberry, one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C there is. The vitamin D3 comes from organic lichen, so the blend stays fully vegan.
-
Yes. It is Certified Vegan by The Vegan Society, in a plant cellulose capsule, with vitamin D3 from lichen rather than an animal source.
